Measuring your Shoe Size: Our Tips!

We love to shop online, but shoe shopping on the internet comes with some risks. One very common concern is choosing the correct size without being able to try on a pair of new shoes.

How to Measure your Shoe Size

In this blog, we at Feliz share our step by step guide and tips for determining your shoe size, so you’ll always order the perfect size for you!

Tools

With these tools, measuring your own feet is easy!

  • Ruler
  • Paper (A4 is most likely fine)
  • Pen

Step 1: Measuring your feet

Place your bare feet on the piece of paper and trace the outline of your feet on the paper with the pen. It’s important to do this while standing up and placing your feet firmly and comfortably, as if you were wearing shoes, for the measurements to be accurate.

Measure both your feet, since they can vary in size. (If this is the case, use the measurements of the larger foot to calculate your size.) Take the ruler and measure the length and breadth of the outlines.

Stap 2: Determine your size with our chart

After having measured the outlines of your feet, simply calculate your shoe size using our size chart below. Just be aware the chart shows the general sizes of our shoes, but could be a couple millimeters off, since our shoes are handmade and could possibly be prone to very slight differences in size.

Step 3: Time to shop

Now that you’ve found out your shoe size, it’s time to order your favorite items. An early favorite of 2025: our leopard print Lynn wedges in Cognac, available here!

Step 4: Your new shoes have arrived - what now?

After your shoes have been ordered and delivered, it’s important to try them on and make sure the size is truly perfect. We’ll share some of our final tips for this process.

  • Tip 1: Make sure you have enough space in your shoes and they’re not too tight or pinchy. We use about one thumb’s length as a guideline, to make sure they’re not too pinchy.

  • Tip 2: Make sure the shoes fit nicely and don’t pinch your feet in any uncomfortable places. Pretty much all of our shoes are made of leather, so note that this natural material will accustom itself to the shape of your feet just a little bit over time. Nevertheless, it’s always best to make sure the shoes are also comfortable on the first try.

  • Tip 3: Try on your shoes in the morningtime. At the end of the day, our feet are usually a little swollen, which might skew the try-on, making it harder to put the shoes on and might make them less comfortable.

  • Tip 4: If possible, try the shoes on some kind of carpeting, or any other clean and soft surface. This will prevent scuffs and other damage to the soles, for the event that the shoes have to be sent back if the fit doesn’t turn out to be right for you. Never try brand new shoes (that you’ve ordered online) outside or on a dirty surface.
